SMITH POINT RACE RESULTS

SHINNECOCK BAY

The Smith Point Trophy Regatta, which started out at Shinnecock Yacht Club, offered sailors a beautiful day on Shinnecock Bay with light, shifting breezes from the SE to E at just 5 to 6 MPH. The weather was temperate at 78 degrees. The SS fleet sailed a course from Shinnecock Yacht Club to Pow Wow Point and back. The first leg of the race started at 11:35 AM. The second race started at 12:05 PM. Many thanks to Race Committee members Abby Connett, John Zambriski, Missy Nelson, and Daniela Sevilla for conducting an excellent regatta! Special thanks to Daniela Sevilla for expertly managing the scoring throughout the event and to Helen Horton for entering the scoring for the official posting!

Regatta Note: While SS 102 and SS 153 each finished the regatta with 5 total points, SS 102 was awarded 2nd place and SS 153 3rd place based on the tiebreaker, as SS 102 was the higher finisher in the final race despite both boats having an equal highest placement across all races.
